All of the horses at RiverSong have a history, a story, and a superpower. Learn more about our herd below.

Andee
Born: 2008
Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Andee is presented with a curious spirit. He is always up for a new adventure.
Andee's Superpower
Assisting humans in learning to keep “the connection” whether it be Low, Mid or High.

Aria
Born: 2010
Aria is a Warlander (Friesian/ Andalusian), with a temperament characteristic to the breed - thoughtful with a big presence. She is a true teacher and loves to help keep the human aware of what they are asking.
Aria's Superpower
She is a Mama Teacher and helps show the way

Bella
Born: 2005
Bella is an Arabian and was born a perfectionist. She insists on you learning and performing a good greeting protocol, and that you be very clear on what you are asking. She is impatient and in turn teaches patience.
Bella's Superpower
Teaching humans to breathe and focus.

Boo
Born: 2013
Boo is a 16hh Mustang born in Eastern Oregon and will teach you all about boundaries. He's the best teacher of My Space – Your Space! If you have had a difficult time defining your boundaries, he's your teacher.
Boo's Superpower
Helps keep people in the present moment.

Dancer
Born: ~2011
Dancer hails from the Warm Springs Reservation.
Dancer's Superpower
Requires authenticity from the human and teaches horse Protocol.

Diego
Born: ~2006
Diego is a Mustang, born in Eastern Oregon. He had is very own herd in the wild and was rounded up and separated from them. He was started by a very aggressive trainer and is now a bucking horse.
Diego's Superpower
Until you are regulated, he keeps his distance. Teaching co regulation is his power

Finn
Born: 2005
Finn has always been a good follower and willing to be the horse that a new person can climb aboard. Finn is from the Yakama Reservation.

Providing feelings of safety.

Foxy
Born: 2000
Foxy is a 13hh pony who has a sweet gentle nature and will let you know when your nervous system is not regulated. Once she allows you to stand next to her, her superpower shines through. She is from Heart Ranch.

Assisting people to find a calm state.

Khemo Son
Born: 2000
Khemo San is an Arabian, and grandson of the very famous Arab Kemosabe. He was given up by his owner as she could not take care of him any longer due to health issues. He will be at the Sanctuary until he crosses the rainbow bridge.
Khemo Son's Superpower
Patience.

Lady
Born: 2003
Lady is an Arabian/Quarter Horse, who was surrendered in 2017 when her owner had to leave to take care of a family member in Alaska. She had been working as a school horse and on a dude string. She has put in her time and shown many people how to ride. That’s a hard job for a horse and she never bucked or spooked with anyone.
Lady's Superpower
Calmness - and (of course) hanging out with her partner, Skeeter. Lady is great at teaching people how to halter and walk a horse.

Little Red
Born: 2015
On the left is Little Red is a Quarter Horse who was bred to be a cutting horse. He was abandoned with us in 2019, but we would love for someone to sponsor him so he could be trained to ride. Little Red lives with his bonded partner, Westy on the right.
Little Red's Superpower
If he lets you approach him, he will bond with you.

Mama Tank
Born: ~2001
Mama Tank was deemed “untrainable” perhaps due to inbreeding (but that’s just a guess). We would love to have her genetically tested to see what her breeding is.
Mama Tank's Superpower
Teaching people how to breathe and stay in low connection.

Pepper
Born: ~2011
Pepper is a Mustang who was caught out by Paisley Lake, Oregon. Even though Pepper is a calm horse, and great with kids, the person who adopted her abandoned her.
Pepper's Superpower
Remaining calm and grounded.

Skeeter
Born: 2000
Skeeter on the left is a Quarter Horse, who has been with us since 2018. He was a working horse and contributed to many happy days in the saddle. He was surrendered to us by a family who lived in Central Oregon but had to leave unexpectedly to help family back east. His bonded partner is Lady on the right.
Skeeter's Superpower
Teaching patience.

Westy
Born: 2004
Westy is a Quarter Horse who was abandoned in 2008 by her owner, who had to leave in the middle of the night to escape an abusive situation. She was then surrendered to us by a neighbor. He begged us not to sell her, and of course we never would!
Westy's Superpower
Helping people find their courage.
