Our Mission
At Riversong, we honor the lifelong bond between horses and humans through sanctuary, stewardship, and education.
Riversong Horse Sanctuary, Education & Therapy Center is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing haven for aging, rescued, and retired horses while serving as a retreat and training center that supports healing, education, and inspiration for people.
Through equine-assisted learning, nature-based therapies, artistic expression, and evidence-based horsemanship, we offer a second beginning for both horse and human.

What We Do
Sanctuary: We provide a safe, loving, and permanent home for older horses in need.
Education & Retreats: We offer learning experiences that foster respect, awareness, and connection between humans and horses, and create restorative, retreat-style experiences centered on reflection, presence, and connection with horses.
Get Involved
Be part of our herd! Whether you donate, volunteer, or attend a retreat, you play a role in giving these horses a second chance and helping others find connection and renewal.
Your donation helps provide the essentials that make this possible: nourishing hay, veterinary and dental care, hoof trims, medications, shelter, and the safety of a lifelong home.

Retreats
Riversong offers retreats designed to provide space for reflection, connection, and renewal in the presence of horses.
These experiences may include guided time with horses (ground-based, non-riding), mindfulness practices, and opportunities for personal reflection and group connection.
Our retreats are not clinical therapy, but they offer meaningful, supportive experiences that many participants find calming, grounding, and impactful.
Our Instructor /Guide

Lucinda Baker began riding at age 4 and trained in Classical Hunt Seat and Show Jumping until age 14. After raising two children, studying Early Childhood Education and Sociology, and running several businesses for over 28 years as a CEO, she returned to horses.
Lucinda has since developed a deep, science-informed understanding of horses built through decades of hands-on experience, study, and research. At heart, she is both a researcher and a teacher-always eager to share what she’s learned.
Now, with a group of dedicated volunteers she operates Riversong Horse Sanctuary and Retreat Center. A lifelong dream to provide a place of refuge, learning, and healing - where horses and humans reconnect through compassion, education, and restorative experiences.
